MOVE IN DAY

This afternoon I moved into the Ark, a small, renovated church building along the shore of Lake Erie.

The Ark is located in the midst of a space that is almost entirely fields, grass, and trees. The main sanctuary of the church was converted into a living area, complete with couches that engulf your entire being when you sink into them, a massive dining table, and many musical instruments. The former foyer has been converted into a kitchen/entrance area, and the upstairs and basement areas are now bedrooms. The Ark is home for the next two months, as we begin work in the asparagus barn next week (maybe?).

So far, there are three of us here (Chelsea, Amy, and me). We've explored the beach, played basketball, and are currently hanging out in the basement, just getting to know each other. Christoph (Team Leader) just left to pick up a fourth (Philip) from the airport.

Tonight is unscheduled hangout time, as the rest of the team will be arriving tonight and tomorrow morning. Discipleship training starts tomorrow morning and will run until Saturday (or until the asparagus is ready for us).
